Home > Research & development > Research and development projects Research and development projects The goal of the environmental research conducted by the Finnish Environment Institute (Syke) is to guarantee that our environment remains safe and favourable for people to live in, while preserving biodiversity and reducing the burdens we place on the environment. There are nearly 100 EU projects going on at Syke, as well as a couple hundred other research and development projects. The majority of the projects are cooperation projects, which are carried out together with research institutes and universities in Finland and/or in other countries.
