The aim of the BPAN project is to promote the establishment of a representative network of protected areas for the conservation of boreal and arctic nature, primarily forests and wetlands. The Barents countries - Russia, Finland, Sweden and Norway – face similar challenges in the conservation of northern species and ecosystems.
