Background

I'm leading Built Environment Solutions unit, which support's urban areas on their way to becoming forerunners of the sustainability.

Before current role I was leading Sustainable Urbanisation program at SYKE in 2020-22. Earlier I was Senior Research Associate in the University of Cambridge, England (2013-2019), assistant professor is the Polish Academy of Sciences, Poland (2009-2013), and researcher in the National Institute for Health and Welfare, Finland (2002-2011). I addition I have been an exchange student in the University of Wageningen, the Netherlands (2002), and participated Young Scientist Summer Program (YSSP) in the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, (IIASA) Austria (2006).

Speciality

Transport, environment and health; health impact assessment (HIA); air pollution and health (especially fine particulate matter air pollution in an urban environment); risk assessment; computer modelling and Monte Carlo simulation; physical activity and health; noise and health; disability-adjusted life-year, DALY.

Education

  • Doctor of Science, informatics (doktor habilitowany, dr hab.), Systems Research Institute, Polish Academy of Sciencs, 2020.
