Impact of low emissions vehicles on reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Japan

A dynamic simulation model of integrated energy-transport system
 

A dynamic simulation model of integrated energy-transport system is used to explore the transition paths to a low-carbon transport sector in Japan. Infrastructure development for alternative fuels and higher carbon tax rates are considered as the policy measures to promote low- or zero-emission vehicles. The potential for GHG mitigation is evaluated from tank-to-wheels, well-to-wheels, and life-cycle perspectives.
